In this episode, I interview Dr. James Greenblatt, who is the founder and pioneer in the field of integrative and functional psychiatry and has been in clinical practice since 1988. He is also someone who helped me see the possibilities beyond mood medications for myself.
Can lithium influence nervous system dysregulation?
This episode will speak to lithium’s role on the nervous system and you will find that it needs to be central to the conversation for mental health, addiction, and the trauma healing journey, particularly its stabilizing effects on the nervous system.
As a functional medicine psychiatrist, Dr. Greenblatt has been a leader in finding and addressing the root causes of mood imbalances, often able to avoid mood medications with all their side effects. Because of the importance of stabilization and regulation of the nervous system on the trauma healing journey. I wanted him to share his work with lithium with you in this episode.
